Passenger Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Dankooo — a smart ride-hailing platform that connects passengers with verified independent drivers. Please read these terms carefully before using our service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Dankooo, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Safety Disclaimer
Dankooo acts only as a technology platform connecting drivers and passengers. We do not operate vehicles or employ drivers. Passengers are encouraged to verify their driver’s identity, vehicle and registration number before entering a vehicle.
3. Limitation of Liability
Dankooo is not responsible for any injury, damage, loss, or delay that may occur during a trip. Passengers use the service at their own risk.
4. Data Protection
We respect your privacy and protect your data. Your details will never be shared with third parties except when required by law or when necessary to deliver the service (for example, to coordinate a trip with an assigned driver).
5. Passenger Conduct
- Respect your driver and any other passengers.
- Do not engage in illegal, abusive, or unsafe behaviour during a trip.
- Report any incidents immediately to our support team via WhatsApp or email.
6. Payments
Payments may be made in cash or via supported digital payment options if available. The fare displayed on Dankooo is typically a recommended estimate, and both parties may confirm the final price through the chatroom before the trip begins. Once an amount is agreed upon and the trip starts, the agreed fare applies. Refunds are only applicable in cases of verified errors or disputes confirmed by both parties and reviewed by Dankooo support.
7. Communication & POPIA Compliance
After a driver has accepted your request, Dankooo offers two communication methods:
📱 WhatsApp Communication
- You will receive the driver’s WhatsApp number so you can message them directly to coordinate the trip.
- Your own number remains private unless you choose to send a message to the driver.
- This option uses WhatsApp data only and is strictly for trip-related communication.
💻 Web Chat Communication
- You may communicate with the driver using the Dankooo web chat platform.
- Your phone number is not shown to the driver when using web chat.
- This option requires normal mobile data or Wi-Fi.
🔒 POPIA
- Driver contact details are shared with you only for the purpose of coordinating a confirmed trip.
- Your personal information is processed in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
- We do not use your contact details for marketing without your explicit consent.
- We do not sell or distribute your personal information to unrelated third parties.
8. Updates to Terms
These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of Dankooo indicates your acceptance of the latest version.
